I’ve worked with words all my working life.
My first job after graduation was in a London ad agency, where I learned about the power of good copy.
I went on to work in the book trade, writing catalogues and promotional material, and eventually moved into publishing. I was also producing freelance feature articles during this time, and was part of a freelance writers’ group based at City University.
I went completely freelance, with brief interruptions, in 1996, working as an editor, a writer, copywriter or journalist, as required.
I’ve been working with words on the web since 1997 – and ensured, for instance, that a specialist publisher had a prominent position on Amazon when the US retailer’s UK website was launched in 1998.
I’m a member of the Guild of Food Writers, but also specialise in health, history – my degree was in archaeology – business and crafts.
